Leaping Plunge

Welcome to my {daily} post as part of the #BlogHer National Blogging PostingMonth! Or as its more commonly known…NaBloPoMo. Each month there will be a theme, and each day there is a “raw” writing challenge. Each weekend, we are left to our devices to dabble as we please. Length is not a requirement, not even words…only creativity. And the determination to write/post each day, every day, uniquely to the task at hand.

Leap. Dive. Plunge into life and never look back. How often do you really gather up your gusto by its hems and jump with both feet into the unknown? What have you done that leaves you breathless, shaken and feeling all the more alive for the action taken?

Not many have such tales. Many get settled in the security of day-t0-day life. Is that bad? No. Blessed be the content. Me…I’ve always been too big of a dreamer to not take comfort for granted. One day I will find a house that I want to grow old in. I will not feel the pull of an open road. I will finally accept that a ceiling  exists where my paycheck is concerned and blissfully rock on a porch grey-haired and humble. Today is not that day however. I will embrace the wind and let it whisper its good fortunes. I will let the trees bend to show me the direction I should be headed. And I will teach my children that if they are quiet enough, they will hear ambition calling them as well.

And when they do, I will not fear the calling they want to hear. To those inspired to take a leap of faith, there is always a net to catch you. Granted some are more soft to land on then others. But when faced with great opportunity a person should never be afraid of confronting a simple question. How many eggs will I put in today’s basket?
