Welcome to my {daily} post as part of the #BlogHer National Blogging PostingMonth! Or as its more commonly known…NaBloPoMo. Each month there will be a theme, and each day there is a “raw” writing challenge. Each weekend, we are left to our devices to dabble as we please. Length is not a requirement, not even words…only creativity. And the determination to write/post each day, every day, uniquely to the task at hand.
Question of the day… “What do you do to cope when you’re nervous?”
Want to know what I do when my nerves are as shaky as a suspension bridge in a hurricane? I use essential oils {aromatherapy}. Yup! Its just that easy and no, I’m not putting you on. I love it. Wouldn’t be the same without it. In fact, I’ll go so far as to say they {as a collective whole} have replaced my entire medicine cabinet.
After trying some other leading brands; I’ve been using doTERRA exclusively after I found the blends, oils, products, and overall scents to be more appealing. Add in the fact that they are all certified therapeutic grade oils and I felt like I’d found Manna from Heaven. {lol}
For nerves, I like using Patchouli, Frankincense, and Wild Orange together. All three have known properties to directly influence the nervous system. When my nerves are shaky and I feel overwhelmed I like to settle down with these. Each oil contributes to me feeling centered – uplifted – and then more relaxed.
What about you? What do you do to keep yourself maintained when your stressed?

I love the scent of lavender and it is relaxing to me..I found Aveeno shower gel called “CALM” and it is lavender scented.. When things get really stressful and I am nervous I get a Reiki session. My sister in law introduced me to it when my late hubby was ill to call me down and help me sleep. It is amazing and I relax and fall to sleep.

Lavender is a staple in our house too! And I agree…Reiki is amazing! I had one session done after the birth of my daughter. And even open minded, I was a bit skeptical. But I’m really glad I gave it a try, it calmed my nerves down and I felt more relaxed going home. Less pain even! It just pulled all that muscle tension right from my body. Now I’m a true believer!
