Welcome to my {daily} post as part of the #BlogHer National Blogging PostingMonth! Or as its more commonly known…NaBloPoMo. Each month there will be a theme, and each day there is a “raw” writing challenge. Each weekend, we are left to our devices to dabble as we please. Length is not a requirement, not even words…only creativity. And the determination to write/post each day, every day, uniquely to the task at hand.
Do your thoughts jump around or glide? I suppose mine would be the latter. Actually, I tend to think in pictures. Vivid pictures at that. So perhaps I could elaborate to say my thoughts glide past me like a imaginative slideshow. It helps with writing, but its also a very temperamental way to be inspired.
And for me, those pictures become valid with words. What has been interesting is seeing that my daughter thinks the same way, but her medium is with the shapes and colours that Georgia O’Keeffe states above. Will she be a writer as well one day? Only time will tell. And I find it fascinating to sit back and watch her mind develop. Gone are the traditional thoughts on conforming to standardized education. I want to give her more then the chance to sit in a classroom for hours. I want to give her interests life. I want to give her the chance to focus on greatness. Her greatness.
The world creates its limits so that we as a whole can find safety in its known comforts. The funny thing is, we grew up idolizing child actors and they all easily describe being tutored on set. But to say you want to home-school your child is met with skeptic gasps. Personally, what is a path if its not the less traveled one? I hear that makes ALL the difference.
