It has finally happened. After seeing me snag a snack {instead of a meal} off the habitually uneaten food I give my kids; Belle simply handed me her leftovers this morning.
“Here Mom, you can have whats left.”
Gee. Thanks.
As I gazed at what my daughter had lovingly deposited, I realized this was one of those “Mom” moments of truth. I have picked slimy boogers and caught vomit. I’ve wiped butts and been sprayed with pee. I have even caught full-on sneezes full-faced and open mouthed. And it was at this point that a crusty old tart I {blindly} ate before ranked right up there with sharing water with a drooling toddler.
My girl doesn’t eat much, its always been a chore to make sure she gets all those fruits and veggies. I’ve simply gotten used to making my plate after hers so {for example} the untouched grapes, 1/2 sammie, and banana chips aren’t wasted. I feel guilty throwing out so much food and it can’t always be repackaged for later. But it appears my methods need to be a tad more discrete. And I started with tossing the crusty old tart.
So tell me, what great truths in Motherhood have you discovered?

I still learn everyday, so I don’t know what I can offer. But how true is your post!! 🙂

I so get this post, and I feel like I’ve learned so much and still learned nothing all at the same time. It’s a beautiful thing motherhood, isn’t it?

Awe, something about that is so sweet to me 🙂 You’ll miss it someday! Also, those “crumbs” look like Christmas stockings at first glance! 🙂
