And on this day, I thee wed…
I loved my wedding. Well, every bride does hope they obtain the “dream” day. And despite a few hiccups, we managed to pull together a fantastic event for over 200 guests in just 3 months time.
I was telling you yesterday how we were engaged in July of 2004; I initially started calling around to simply see what the Autumn season of 2005 would be like. While on the phone with this all-inclusive Wedding Chapel, I was quickly finding that everything was booked nearly 2 years out! Bummed, I told the sales rep I’d call back later when she jokingly admitted she could fit us in THIS October due to a cancellation. And without thinking of anything else…I booked the date.
We were simply blessed that it all came together. At the time, it felt Kismet that every detail fell right into place. And not only that, but everything I’d ever dreamed of. I didn’t even find our reception hall until late September!
And despite a huge wedding party hailing from across the United States; David’s Bridal was available in each state to size each person correctly. In general, we saved 60-75% by reserving everything so close to our wedding date. And did I mention the added Indian Summer bonus? It was nearly 80 degrees on October 30th that year.
What a day! And it was made perfect by the people that could come and share it with us. Because as the years pass, its the memories and pictures they remind us of that bring the biggest smiles.
How about you? What was the best wedding you ever attended?
