I don’t know about you, but I’ll miss Hostess.
As a good girl watching her hip girth I didn’t indulge. As a good Momma watching out for her kids teeth, I didn’t stock Twinkies in my pantry. I figured they would be a sweet treat for road trips we’d take or hotel vending snacks we grabbed while filling ice buckets. I assumed that an american icon would always be around to make more childhood memories, this time with my own children. Guess I shouldn’t have ASS-umed, huh?
So after realizing I’ll never eat another Orange Cupcake, I pulled a chilled bottle of pink champagne from the back of the fridge. This bottle was bought to celebrate my birthday back in April. Then we had planned to open it for my Husbands birthday in June. Then we were waiting to open it on our Anniversary in October.
Each time, we found reason to wait. A reason conditions weren’t “perfect” to uncork it. But tonight, for no reason other then to enjoy a movie, eat frozen appetizers, and usher a sleepy child back to bed. We finally drank this bottle of Pink Champagne. I still don’t have my stemware out of storage. But it tasted just as lovely out of $3 sale plastic flutes. And perhaps all the better because of it.
Life is short people. Don’t wait to celebrate.
