Everyone wants to get {or stay} healthy and I am not any different. And though we do indulge from time to time, our family does not typically drink Soda. However, when I do crave it, I have realized its more for the carbonated aspect than anything else. So I love to create our own soda mocktails. Essentially, a homemade spritzer.
As a family favorite, all it consists of is finding the perfect bubbly base and adding a juice or flavored syrup. So for us, we always have a juice around the house to add for color and sweetness. While our perfect carbonated base to any spritzer is using Perrier carbonated mineral water. Whether in its original or flavored versions, its crisp, nearly dry nature pairs well with syrupy or sugar-laden add-ins. Garnish with your fruit of choice and voila! A bubbly concoction that everyone can enjoy!
But while using juice works fine; I have still wanted to find a more economical {and hopefully less sugary} flavor for our Spritzer. And do you want to know what I found to make a GREAT flavored add-in? Lipton Tea & Honey Iced Green Tea packets!
We usually stock up when we shop at Walmart. In fact you can see our latest trip here {Shopping at Walmart for #FamilyTeaTime with Lipton Tea & Honey Packets}. Made with real ingredients, real fruit flavors and sweetened with honey; Lipton Tea & Honey packets has proven the perfect compliment to our Perrier spritzers. Its low sugar for the kids {yet they’d never be able to tell you that} and only 5 calories per serving for Momma!
And what is also great, is that Lipton developed a wide variety of flavors to choose from as well. Packaged in great to-go tea sticks as well as larger family sized pitcher packets its perfect for what we needed. Just mix your packet to its designated amount of water and voila! Instant iced {green} tea! And since we are doing the mixing, we were able to create the perfect new family tea time treat to suit all our personal tastes.
Here’s how we created our Lipton Tea & Honey Spritzer. We used the Blackberry Pomegranate flavor for its larger family size portion. Using bottled water, I mixed 1 Pitcher-sized packet to create my flavor concentrate using 1 cup of water. I then sliced my lime and garnished serving glasses before pouring in the Lime Flavored Perrier. At that point, all you have to do is slowly pour the flavor concentrate over the bubbling Perrier to taste. Garnish with more fruit is desired and a great family mocktail is born! How easy is that?
Looking forward to trying this out too? Then make sure to check out the great flavors available for Lipton Tea & Honey on the Lipton website at {http://www.liptontea.com}. As well as on Facebook and Twitter too!
