Happy Apple Tree Day! I don’t know about you but our house is never without an apple. I find all the facts regarding them fascinating but the one I most enjoy is the story of Johnny Appleseed. Considering the only native apple tree to the US is the crab-apple; I’d like to think that good ole Johnny Chapman had a major part in the vast varieties found today. But his influence didn’t stop there.
Honestly, I learned this tune at a young age at camp, and never even knew it had more then one verse until I saw other videos on YouTube. I still sing it daily, now with my kids, when we are grateful for our food or even a sunny day. And what I find amazing, is that Johnny Appleseed’s gracious demeanor still blesses our bellies. Here’s to living a live that creates ballads of joy for years to come!

I am not a big fan of apples, though my husband LOVES them, but I must say, I love crabapple trees!

You would think this holiday would be in the fal. No apple on any of the trees up here now. I did make apple pie for my Mexican family while I was visiting and it was the first time they had ever had it. It was gone in minutes so I guess it was a success!
