If your home is like mine, you’re tuned into game-day each week. Whether its Football, Hockey, Basketball or Baseball; There is always a reason to serve up the frozen food aisle. Honestly, I find it an oddly ironic relationship between food and sports. How on earth did the best way to celebrate watching finely-turned athletes become stuffing ourselves with a high caloric and artery clogging menu?
That said, I’m far from immune in yearning for my share of cheesy pizza, saucy wings or cream cheese jalapeno poppers. But with the New Year came a new resolution to get healthier. The issue I had however, was getting started. I needed great ideas on fast, healthy, easy snacks. Heading to a grocery store to read labels {with two young kids} would be far from productive. Thankfully, I’ve found a great solution when I discovered Nature Box.
The Nature Box mission statement rings true with every facet it projects. They really want to help with discovering a healthier you. {Didn’t I tell you they were just what I was looking for?} And with that in mind, Nature Box also proves to be more then just a monthly subscription service. Visiting their website you can see how it works and get started on discovering your own healthier path too.
A risk-free service, Nature Box sends along a variety of all-natural snacks. We couldn’t wait to see what our Discovery Box would offer and I was immediately impressed by the eco-friendly packaging. All Nature Box foods are clearly marked as “Nutritionist Approved” and in our box, Vegan as well. Also listed, is a promise to ensure that all its products are make from the best ingredients and are minimally processed. You’ll also see that all Nature Box items will not have the following:
- No high fructose corn syrup
- No partially hydrogenated oils
- No trans fats
- No artificial sweeteners
- No artificial flavors
- No artificial colors
But the infusion of healthy discovery doesn’t stop there. Nature Box also utilizes and promotes its mission on its blog as well. I am left drooling at pictures of great recipes, including ways to make great game-day classics healthier as well. From now on, I can totally see us serving up a great Game Day Turkey Chili; The 3-Cheese Baked Jalapeno Poppers will keep our favorite on the table; And I can’t wait to share the Apple Nachos with my kids! I’m also sure we’ll all love the Layered Hummus Cups to pass around and keep clean-up easy the game ends.
So what better way to jump into serving up healthy snacks for game-day then for the SuperBowl? We’re really big football fans, and our enthusiasm is extended to the fantastic array of foods we help to make tailgating {or couch-gating} fun. This year we paired back the fried foods and set out the great munchies from our latest Nature Box. They even included a great information card with tips for serving each item up or adding it to a recipe. Our all-natural goodies included the following:
- Carrot Chips
- Chipotle Maple Almonds
- Cinnamon Spiced Granola
- Roasted Garlic Pumpkin Seeds
- Country Ranch Peas
