I ache all over. They say the best things in life are free. Advice being one of them. That said, don’t hustle down a dark sidewalk with your hands full.
After a great night out with my girl, I’d {thankfully} left the groceries in the van. While I hustled up the walk to get her inside, my tired eyes fooled me. I was able to bump her out of the way as I took a glorious sprawl into the concrete and mud. Pretty much lost a whole venti iced treasure from Starbucks as well as a few pegs of my dignity.
The coffee flew out of my hand in the momentum of the moment. The dignity backed away as my girl then screamed for Daddy as I tried to roll out of the muck. Thank goodness for my Coach tote. All my mom-stuff pillowed my elbow as it took the brunt of the fall. Reason one-million-and-ten for large mom-bags.
The adrenaline & swelling of a rather disturbed ankle kept me from feeling the full brunt of my fall till tonight. I hurt everywhere. From my scraped knee to my bruised ego. I simply feel so old. Muscles that haven’t felt pain since labor contractions spasm in protest. Happy Birthday to me indeed. Nothing like a dose of reality to make you appreciate mobility and health.
Day 5 & 6 ==>Freebie. Really…you shouldn’t have.
I love freebies. But there are some free things that I really don’t need to be bestowed with. For example? The need for a “free” ace bandage. Nor do I actually want to redeem our “free” office co-pay clause or the “free” lesson on how to wrap my sore, swollen, and disfigured ankle. I do however love free coffee. {Doesn’t do much to break one’s fall however.} Hope good ole Momma Earth wanted a few shots of espresso.
