The following #PixBundle sponsored post has been brought to you by Collective Bias. As always my thoughts, opinions, and tech savvy enthusiasm are my own. Thank you and enjoy!
For a Mom, pictures are very important. And for a Mom who’s also a blogger, photography becomes even more so. But about 3 years ago, our camera went kaput. All I was left with was my cellphone. And honestly, that is all I’ve even built this blog on.
That’s right peeps, up till now, 99% of the photos I’ve published are from my {8 pixel, no-zoom} smartphone. Thankfully food doesn’t move and natural light is plentiful. That isn’t the case however with my children. They continue to perturb, fidget, glance, and smirk at all the wrong times. When a picture involves them, I’d finally given up and was grateful for any photo that proved my lineage wasn’t a dark blob or blur.
That is until now. Because now I get to share with you the coolest #pixbundle under the sun. Available at Sam’s Club {both in-store and online}, is the Samsung Smart Camera & Tab Bundle. The bundle contains:
- NX1100 Camera Kit
- Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 w/WiFi
- Adobe Photoshop Lightroom {Pc/Mac}
- 20mm-50mm Lens
- External Flash
- Battery and Charger
- 8GB microSD Card w/SD Adapter
Opening the box it will feel like even more! {Well, it actually felt like Christmas came early for me.} Inside you’ll find the lastest Samsung NX1100 camera packaged separately from the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2. Both are in matching white as well as the camera lens, external flash and camera strap.
Also included is your 8GB microSD card. Both items do have a limited internal storage capabilities. But for optimal use, I highly suggest getting a SD card for both electronics. The NX1100 will take a full-sized SD card, while the Galaxy Tablet will only use the microSD size. Used with an adapter the micoSD card can be easily exchanged between the two electronics as well.
With that knowledge we chose to use our existing 16GB SD card for the camera {offering memory 1300+ pictures} while utilizing the microSD card for our 7″ inch Galaxy Tab 2. This immediately enabled us to double the memory of the Samsung Galaxy Tablet. Because with this Samsung Smart Camera, we have instant sharing via wifi for our 20.3 megapixel photos and full HD video.
Do you know how nice it is to not have to find a cord or compatible SD drive to download your pictures? Using the free Samsung Smart Camera App {found for both Android and iOS systems} that is now possible. What’s more, if your smartphone supports the Remote Viewfinder camera feature, you can also use your mobile as a remote shutter release, complete with view of the captured photo.
At this point, I’m pretty much as excited as a kid in a candy store. For me, the Samsung NX1100 seemed like the perfect camera. The ability to interchange the lenses and external flash is awesome. Oh, and did I mention the included battery and charging unit? Say goodbye to costly disposables, when you say hello to being smart with Samsung.
It also doesn’t matter whether your just starting out or an experienced photographer – you can utilize the features on this camera. And to showcase that fact, all the pictures taken by the NX1100 in this post were taken straight out of the box on Day 1.
I did not use any filter or editing. After first reading the User Manual, I kept the camera on the Auto Focus. I also choose to let the Smart Auto mode feature choose which scene category would best take my pictures. Ready to follow me through my first day?
So here it is: This first photo above was taken with my smartphone. It would have been one I’d have used on the blog. But would have first needed editing. Most especially to soften the glare on the cut lemons. But was by far the best one taken around 3pm in natural light, indoors.
And now for what the Samsung NX1100 Smart Camera will give you. Same arrangement, taken within minutes of the first, in natural light. And you can SEE the difference the NX1100 will give you. Gone is the overexposed harsh colors. The natural light is softer, the shadow complimentary now. And the Auto Focus does its job beautifully creating a soft blur at the base of the colander. The lemons while needing editing above, are beautiful to look at now, untouched.
After this, it was the perfect time to take the family for a walk. So we ventured out to see how the camera would do in photographing action. With the kids ready to run and a nice breeze blowing, I was sure to find out fast just how “smart” my new camera was.
Everything was great for about the first 5 minutes. At which point, an ANT dared to crawl up my daughters leg. The butterfly net went flying itself as she jumped out of the wagon and ran back towards me. A frown turned upside very quickly when it was confirmed that the ant had met its end. And we were on our way again.
As you can notice above, we live in a community filled with trees. Weeping Willows, Birch, and more line the sidewalks and marsh. I knew the trees would showcase the great Auto Focus you’ll find on the NX1100 Smart Camera. And a few Evergreen trees did just that.
Check out how pressing halfway down on the shutter button will enable a refocus of the area for a different perspective. Both these pictures were taken in natural light about 2 feet above my head. The wind was rocking the branches as well.
Our walk was nearing its end when I caught back up with the rest of my family walking back. Up by the wagon I couldn’t help but snap a few pictures of my son in our little trusty wagon. Such a simple photo…but what amazed me was being able to SEE the strands of hair on his head!
And then a second later the Samsung Smart Camera instantly refocused as he glanced up to provide a beautiful softened picture. The photo is automatically focused on his face and blends to a blur as the photo deepens. Right out of the box, you too will be taking incredible photos that you’ll be treasuring for years.
Last but not least, I really wanted to see how well my Samsung camera would take food pictures. This weekend marked our own start to the grilling season. For a side, we grilled up baby red potatoes sprinkled with Italian blend seasoning.
And with this next picture, all my worries on capturing the detailed, juicy, decadence of foodie delights vanished. Our experiment with rolling our own Flank Steak stuffed with low-fat feta cheese, sweet peppers, and spinach was a success. Great camera and great food? This girl is in heaven!
And with that my first day as a Samsung NX1100 Smart Camera owner was complete. This smart camera is incredible. The value of the camera alone essentially makes the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 free. Not to mention another amazing bundle facet. While I wanted to outline that you won’t need to use editing on your photos, this amazing bundle comes with Adobe Photoshop Lightrooom, a $149 value!
Any great piece of technology is an investment. Many aren’t afraid as much of the price of DSLR camera as they are the learning curve needed to use one. And the majority of users do not need one either, but yearn for the quality photo it offers. However that is exactly what the NX1100 offers when buying this mirrorless digital camera.
So to get such DSLR-like attributes in such a stylish, affordable, and compact package is a tremendous advantage. Adding in the integrated features and instant share to social media sites, your tablet, and your mobile? Well that is Samsung Smart.
