Newman’s Own Organics: The Second Generation

A few years ago I discovered the benefits of eating organic. And with that came the search for the healthy brands that not only encompassed a good food advantage, but also kept it easily accessible in my pantry. The biggest issue for me is that I need real food at my fingertips {meaning my local grocer}. Thankfully, my journey was able to begin with the help of Newman”s Own Organics.

Fast forward five years and my quest to keep my family reaching for organic goodness continues. And I can say that Nell Newman’s vision of presenting “the second generation” in bringing organic food to the masses has been a huge help. With an extended line of products {over 150 and counting}, I was pretty geeked to sample a box of such good food. From candy to cookies to dried fruit and mints, here’s my own sampling of these amazing eats.

Pretzels

I have to say that between the football games, healthy eating, and toddler snack time; Pretzels are always a staple in our home. And I was delighted to sample three varieties, of which I was really impressed that they offered a high protein version. But I have to say, the salted rounds are the perfection of pretzel salted snackiness.

Hermits

Yearning to find the perfect soft cookie to splurge your obsession for organic raisins and molasses? Yeah, so was I…and did I ever find it courtesy of Newman’s Own Organics! Blessing the world with three varieties of Hermits {Original, Cinnamon, and Ginger}, you can bet this won’t be the last empty package my family is going to see.

Family Recipe Cookies

How about the perfect mini-sized coffee to have your coffee with? These little bite-sized wonders will keep you coming back from more. Offered in a variety of great options {I inhaled the Orange Chocolate Chip}, you’ll find them all slightly crunchy and oh-so-crumbly. Fair warning…be prepared to wish for more. And for wanting to lick every crumbly morsel out of the bag.

Newman-O’s

This is your ticket to organic cream filled cookie heaven. Offered in a whopping six milk dunkin’ flavors {including a wheat free/dairy free}, you won’t want to miss the wagon on enjoying these. As with all the products on the Newman’s Own Organic line, these are tested and upheld by Oregon Tilth certification standards. What does that mean to you? A host of great things, but most importantly…they are great with or without the milk.

Chocolate

And speaking of chocolate, I have to lay my favorite claim for this box on the N Signature Chocolate Series. {Psst…remember this for an extra entry on my Newman’s Own Organic giveaway going on through February 13th.} The new Mocha Milk Chocolate is divine…but the Espresso Dark Chocolate bar just took my coffee and chocolate love to new heights. I mean…the kids practically inhaled the Fig Newmans. But this Momma nearly cried from pure happiness at having such an organic cocoa bean stash to hide in the laundry room.

Chocolate Cups

You know…there is organic chocolate and then there is organic Chocolate Cups. Oh sweet chocoholic am I. Each package will bless you with three perfectly formed cups of deliciousness. And with five different varieties in milk or dark chocolate to try {Peanut Butter, Peppermint Cup, and Caramel} you’re sure to find your favorite too.

Licorice

Chocolate not your thing? No worries my friend, because Newman’s Own Organics will delight your sense with its wide varieties of regular and sour Licorice Twists. Made {and in the sour varieties adorned} with organic sugar, you’ll never want for a better licorice again. Whether you’ll crave the mango or the classic black licorice, the only thing you’ll wish is that there is more of it.

Mints

What post {or dinner} for that matter isn’t best finished up with a mint? I was astounded by theses intense {and awesomely flavorful} Newman’s Own Organics mints. Packaged in tins {as well as rolls or bulk bag rolls} the samples I got will long be remembered as we reuse the tins for other container purposes. So lets see, great mints – reusable packaging – and purchase has profits going to charity. Have I mentioned how much I love this brand?
