Coffee brings us together. Even for those that don’t drink it, they can’t escape its amazing aroma and enjoy it in their own way. So its often a common denominator for melding our chats, gatherings, and other leisurely freedoms we all partake in. I know I for one, could never forget the great smells of coffee and breakfast that would wake me up as a child.
And as we venture towards summer weather and its patriotic holidays, its easy to get nostalgic. Especially when there’s great old pictures and amazing stories to hear from our family as they gather together. And with a family full of military veterans, its easy for conversation to drift that way. And its not just those that lived through it, but those that stood by in support of it as well.
New stories and old trickled out this past week when I took the kids to visit my parents. My grandparents told about how my Mom lived with them when my Dad was stationed overseas. My Dad recounted the cave diving he did, the trips out to explore Japan, and what it was like to come back to a baby that didn’t know him from Adam. I was in fact, born at Camp Lejeune. And my Dad shipped out just a month after I was born.
With most of the pictures lost or destroyed at this point, a few good ones remain. And this connection to my Dad’s service in the US Marines, I love giving back to military fundraisers and aid programs. So it’s especially awesome to hear about the partnership that Nestle’s Coffee-mate has made with Operation Homefront.
See…pure awesomeness right? I love knowing that my favorite products support such an amazing collaboration! And its really encouraging to see Operation Homefront showcased in this fantastic way. Plus…who doesn’t love the stars-and-stripes design this time of year?
So as you begin to stock up your coolers and party supplies for celebrating the holidays this summer, remember to grab this bottle for your picnic table. And most importantly, remember to thank the military hero’s in your life for the freedoms you enjoy today. For me, it’s not just my Dad… but also my Uncles, Aunts, Grandfather, and even my Husband that served.
Are you ready to have great coffee moments and help Operation Homefront too? Then get your own Coffee-mate creamer in the patriotic stars and stripes at your local Walmart. Just act fast…this limited edition packaging will only be offered from Memorial Day through Independence Day.
Want to read even more about the Coffee-mate and Operation Homefront partnership? Then head over to Walmart’s Nestle Coffee-Mate site for additional details. And tell me, who will you be sharing your coffee moments with this summer?
