I am soooo ready for some football! But I have to admit, I’m celebrating more touchdowns at the buffet table than the field. So creating a simple way to snack during the game is optimal. And this year, I’m headed to Walmart to score my big game staples.
My first play? To pick up a trio of favorites for our buffet table. That includes:
How do these three favorites set up our tastebuds for game day? Well for starters, we won’t need delivery!
This stuffed crust cheesy dream of a pizza pie is just what our family drools over. Easily prepared for homegating, it serves up 100% mozzerella cheese and sauce from vine riped California tomatoes. Even your budget will love them, as DiGiorno pizzas are on Rollback at Walmart!
And is there anything more classic for our game day party than Coca-Cola? This year, we’re jazzing it up by loading up a pitcher for the whole family to enjoy. A friendly twist indeed, this regular take on a sugar free favorite combines coconut extract, coconut syrup, lime juice, and half & half.
So start with bringing out your pitcher and filling it with ice. Crushed or pebbled is always great to use with this zippy favorite. The best thing about this drink, is that its actually mixed to taste. And for some reason, I love it in this form much better.
This pitcher fit two bottles {or 1 full liter} of Coca-Cola. Pour slowly over your crushed ice. Then sit back and watch the fizz reveal its caramel colored wonder.
Next up? Lime juice! For every half liter bottle I use half a lime. So for this pitcher, I used one whole lime. Slice it in two and squeeze it in.
Are you ready for this? Next pour in 4 teaspoons of Coconut syrup. Do note, this is not the sugar free variety. So a little will go a long way.
Here’s where some people may option out…but you totally shouldn’t! It’s also what gives this “dirty coke” its name. So pull out your Half & Half, and pour in 10-12 teaspoons.
Now just gently stir all this fizzy goodness together! Granted, its going to look a little light at first. But you’ll see how it settles together within a minute or two.
And there you have it! A great take on a new way to serve up Coca-Cola for your homegating party. I will note, another easy way to serve this is to let your guests pour in the Half & Half. Just leave the carton on ice beside the pitcher. Then they can pour it to taste.
Last but not least, what’s pizza and fancy drinks without dessert? Tickle your tastebuds with an easy football table treat…chocolate covered Ritz crackers. We simply microwave chocolate melts {you can find it in your baking aisle} with 1-2 teaspoons of olive oil. Then dip the crackers and set to cool on a parchment paper. You can even get fancy and use sprinkles in your favorite team colors!
So what do you think? Does this get the wheels turning for your own big game buffet? For even more ideas {and a chance to win game day prizes} check out the Home Bowl 2015! Sponsored by Ritz and Coca-Cola, you’ll love how easy this Evite game day site helps you plan.
So when you’re preparing to party for the big game, make sure to show or tweet me! I’d love to see what different buffet football spreads you whip up. You can also find Coca-Cola, Digiorno, and Ritz on Twitter too! Game on and lets #PrepareToParty!
