Who’s ready for another road trip? Last month I got the stellar opportunity to drive to Cincinnati, OH for a blogging conference. Starting my own business this year, its exciting to network and learn from blogging experts. And I had an amazing time!
Personally, I was offered a spectacular grant to attend. And who wouldn’t love the chance to travel when its offered? So for starters, I used Hotwire to reserve a great discounted room with Homewood Suites in Milford, OH. Which I have to say, they really do help you feel right at home!
And talk about being impressed with how accessible Cincinnati was! After a quick transit, I found myself at the Ahalogy headquarters. These experts at Pinterest marketing had me marveled. And Joe Robb proved to be an excellent choice for a featured speaker! Saying he’s a wealth of analytic and SEO knowledge is an understatement.
And that is one big difference between conventional and blogging conferences. Its the one place that people expect you to be taking selfies with your notes. I also got to *finally* meet some of my long-time blogging buds, Dawn {Cheap Is The New Classy} and Jenny {Jenny At Dapperhouse}!
Lunch was sponsored by Chick-Fil-A. Local stores: Houston Rd, Florance, KY and Newport, KY. Which of course had us all drooling for seconds. And really, is there anything better than their lemonade to wash it all down with? Plus, for dessert Graeter’s handmade ice cream simply sealed the taste bud deal for us.
I mean seriously…I promise it was just as irresistible as it’s tagline suggests. I actually picked the {amazing} Black Cherry gelato. Not that you can see it once I happily deluged it with hot chocolate, caramel, cherries and whipped cream.
There were stellar goodie bags for attendee’s filled with great samples from Sweaty Bands. Not to mention a wide variety of Fruit & Nut bars provided by KIND snacks. Add in great coffee and I couldn’t believe the day was only half over!
Next up, I hopped over to the New Riff distillery for another session aptly named, “The Adventure“. To which pro-blogger, Nathan Engels, did a stellar job showcasing two specialized food and marketing sessions. Of which, he even engaged us all to work together to stage great foodie photos.
Afterwards the rain didn’t stop us from going to the top floor and enjoying the view while we continued to network. We were treated to special drinks, tasty popcorn, and handmade hor d’oeuvres. All in all, an amazing day. And I can’t wait to go back.
And go back I will indeed. Matter of fact, I’m buying my ticket to attend another upcoming SoFab University On The Road conference coming to Chicago, IL! The agenda is still being finalized, but I’m already looking forward to this next road trip in July. Will I be seeing you there too?
