Motherhood is not easy. That’s part of the reason they say it takes a village to raise a child. It could also be why take-out was invented. But when I’m craving the joy of sitting down to hot meal away from home? Thankfully, I have the perfect place to go with the family.
And that lovely place, is Buffalo Wings And Rings. A longtime favorite, be prepared for the most amazing buffalo chicken a girl {or guy} can want. So many different sauces and flavors to tease the taste-buds. And that dear friends, isn’t the rest of the menu.
So when the kids and I were out all day, I couldn’t wait to put my feet up. Baseball is reigning supreme now. And Buffalo Wings & Rings is ready to place you right at the ballpark. The new spring menu is filled with baseball-inspired eats. And was I was ready to batter up!
Which ironically, is why I love dining at Buffalo Wings & Rings so much. I can order any of the chicken entrees grilled up without the breading. Not to mention that the *Jack’d Up Wings* entree will have me drooling for days.
People…we’re talking about a Thai chili and sea salt caramel sauced heaven. And the fact its garnished with caramel corn and topped black sesame seeds, scallions, and applewood-smoked bacon? YUM.
And with all this goodness, who can only order one thing? I love ordering a few different appetizers and/or entrees to share and try something new. Now I only needed to make sure the kiddos were content and this Momma was headed for a 7th heaven home-run!
My passion is for food and snapping photos. But I love the creative surge of simple crafting. Especially when the family is involved. Which building a memory book together, makes us all more mindful as we enjoy a day out.
And that dear friends, is also what I wanted to share with you today as well. The easiest, coolest, craftiest way to keep the kids happy when you do make the dash to dine out. With an easy craft-paper memory book.
To get started, all you need is the following:
- Construction paper {2 sheets per child}
- Shoelace or twine {8″ per child}
- Markers, crayons, colored pencils
- Hole punch
- Scissors
- Clear tape
- Plastic gallon/sandwich bag
Now you can get fancy with special tapes, photo corners, and what-nots. You can even print out a few 4×4 pics to smash inside. But for the essence of Mom wanting to desperately get the night off…we’re doing this fast and easy.
1. Prep it. Take the two sheets of construction paper and cut them in have so each child has 4 total. You’ll actually be taking a smattering of all the pages to create your daily book. Fill a gallon plastic bag with your paper, crayons, and tape to take as you hop in the car.
2. Now seated, our scrapbook bag-o-fun is poured on the table as we order up. This order of boneless grilled chicken bites and mild lemon-pepper sauce came out hot and fast. And with a chef on staff you know you’re getting fresh food that’s never frozen!
3. The goal of this memory book is recreating your dining experience. So we toss all the little things that make our meal fun into our handy plastic bag. Which certainly frees up the table space for snacking on a basket of fresh potato chips and barbecue sauce.
4. Full and happy, we settle back home to gather around our kitchen table. I remove all the art work, swag, and miscellaneous trinkets the kids collected. Then I create holes to lace up the book binding.
4. And with the kids help, I start arranging all our memories. There were the Keno sheets that Otis wouldn’t stop drawing on. The lemon scented handy-wipes. The cute motto’s from our silverware. Anything really can be taped in. For instance, my kids have a penchant for finding miniature pencils.
5. Of course here is where you can also print out some selfies and snapshots to tape in of the family having fun! And then you simply arrange all or a few of the paper sheets. Add in a few notes of before and after and you’re all set to finish and bind the book.
Life is about taking time to enjoy the little things. And this is a great way to capture fun memories and awesome food all at once. Which really is the biggest trophy for this Momma to savor, am I right? Because I can totally handle a whole other chapter on this creamy whipped dream of a frosty Coca-Cola ice cream float.
Are you ready for your trip to Buffalo Wings And Rings yet? This new menu is for a limited time only. So what tasty dish are your taste-buds craving before its gone?
