You know…life certainly is what happens when your busy making other plans. For instance, when I venture out to pick up a cute kids birthday card. Yet end up finding the perfect gift…for another Mom! All I can say, is the Minions made me do it!
Earlier I had checked out my stock of Hallmark value cards. I love having a small selection on hand for different things to send cards for. Which at prices as low as .47¢-.97¢, these normally fit the bill. But with more than one kids birthday on the horizon? I was finding the need to release my inner Minion and have a little fun.
So we all piled into the van and headed to Walmart. Because I love Walmart. And I may especially be addicted to the Hallmark card and party aisles. Which as I mentioned above, always satisfies my Type-A, money saving self. But they’re also fantastic for finding the latest gift ideas that I’d have needed to go to a Hallmark store for.
This summer, the whole family is all geared up for the new Minions movie release. Which among other things, is certainly increasing our banana consumption. It also got us interested in checking out these new clip cards. Minion card and cute gift in one? Game on.
And then I found my favorite. And it got me thinking about bananas again. And it also got me asking myself why the kids get all the Minion fun. Because I simply adore these quirky little go-to inspirations. And that got me realizing all the other great Hallmark goodies that inspire fun gifts.
And it was pretty much at that point that I let the Hallmark aisle take over. I kept giggling over the my Minion card to go bananas. Grinned ear-to-ear over a cute decor block to inspire living it up. And was positively perky over a fantastic coffee mug to ensure great mornings. All pulled together with the handy-dandiest little gift box to tuck a gift card into.
So in just 15 short minutes, my favorite aisle ensured I’d gift the coolest, quirkiest, most inspiring birthday box ever. But something was still missing. Because what’s a Minion birthday…without a few bananas? So I whipped up a simple Banana Pudding Pie to bring along with the gift box.
Pressed into a pre-made crust, this crumbly chocolate base is perfection on a plate. After pouring the banana pudding in the shell, I fold in a few dollops of whipped cream. The fridge sets it well in just an hour. And when served its garnished with fresh bananas and semi-sweet chocolate chips.
So when your pressed for time and budget. Always check out my favorite go-to for finding the perfect gift. Or simply grab one of these cute clips to gift yourself. Now that’s an inspiring thought. ❤
So is knowing I still get to go back to Walmart soon to find that kiddie bday gift still! If you stop in for your own card make sure to tag or tweet me your favorite. And please, tell me I’m not the only one that loves getting inspired to send smiles!

My girls always gravitate towards cards with their favorite characters on them! And even more so, when there’s an added bonus like this cute key chain! #client
