Life as a single parent means that I relish the simple things. For me, a picnic on a sunny afternoon is divine. So thankfully, I just found the perfect pairing for taking my summer to go. Now who else is ready to drink in the best moments of the season?
First…let me pause in memoriam for all the overpriced mini-bottles of wine I’ll never have to buy again. That’s because, one, my favorite little Black Box doesn’t require refrigeration. And two, Black Box wines are also good for six weeks after opening. You can just grab, go, and shelve any that is left over for enjoying later.
And just like that, capturing the best of summer just got easier. And just think of all the amazing places and spaces you can put your favorite Black Box vintage. That could be entertaining friends and family. A quaint picnic during a summer evening. Or pouring up a little indulgence on a girls night out when the kids are gone.
Personally, my favorite pairing with any wine is food. Preferably a sweet treat at that. And I just so happen to have one for you today. It’s to taste of course, however its as simple as the moments you are sure to enjoy with it.
For this entertaining summer recipe, you’ll need 1-2 oz of the Black Box wines Malbec. {Leaving plenty to enjoy more traditionally.} A hearty and earthy wine, it’s aroma will remind you of cherry season. And it’s juicy blueberry notes always have me wondering about sipping wine with pancakes.
A higher quality wine regardless of its lower price point; you’ll find this variety is well-balanced to enjoy with dessert. So now that you have your 1-2 oz of the Malbec wine, pour it in a medium sized bowl to mash in with 1 cup blueberries. Add in 1/4 cup Xylitol and set aside {Xylitol being equal measured sugar alternative}.
Next, pull out a quality vanilla bean ice cream. And place 1-2 scoops in your preferred dessert plate or bowl. Layering in your Malbec-Blueberry mash as you go. This recipe is to taste, so you may like more of a Malbec flavor. And for an extra special treat? Sprinkle or drizzle in chocolate syrup or chips. Your can also put the fruit mash on a low boil to reduce it to a non-alcoholic syrup option.
Simple. Sweet. Easy. If that doesn’t evoke the perfect moments on the go then I don’t know what does! With over 50 Gold Medals for its quality {and 40% less than comparable bottled wines}, I think you’re going to love it. Now enjoying life responsibly means a whole lot more freedom and fun.
