This #TryImpressa sponsored post has been compensated on behalf of Linqia and its advertiser. As always, my opinions on life, laughter and motherhood are my own.
They say when a baby is born, so is a Mother. And while I’ve already given my top tips for Handling Motherhood, its always a bonus to find something new to add. So hopefully, you’ll find this newest Mommy tool may just Impressa* you too.
You ever realize that it’s far too easy for Mom’s to get left holding the bag? Like literally…we are always are the ones that hold the bag. We also hold the camera, the snacks, and the stuffed animals. All while our Littles go running off to enjoy life.
But we are nothing if not good sports. So we snap our pictures for scrapbooks we aren’t pictured in. Stand guard dutifully at the finish gate. And find new joy eating our way through life’s venues as we wait.
Except one day, I realized I was so done waiting. And that “one day” happened last year after I got divorced. Suddenly there wasn’t a +1 to take the kiddos anywhere. So I finally got to do it, and talk about missed awesomeness.
Gone were the reasons to not rent a locker or leave that bag in the car. I no longer had to stay on the ground or off the slide. Which left me stunned in retrospect. But now that I was jumping back onto the fun-wagon? I don’t want another excuse to stop for even a second.
And while I rarely experience stress incontinence, it has been intermittent after having my youngest. In fact, its not unusual at all for women {35 million and counting} to experience some form of SUI after childbirth. But heaven forbid we talk about more than hormonal changes, breastfeeding, popped stitches, or sleep deprivation. Wacky plumbing is a whole other category that seems to only be whispered.
Did you realize it takes two years for internal organs to shift back after pregnancy? I was having additional intestinal distress from a newly discovered food intolerance too. I simply thought I could wait it out. That things would eventually go back to the way they were before giving birth. If someone had only talked about using Poise* and embracing life instead!
Yet during that time, I didn’t realized the increase in self-imposed limits. I snuffed sneezing, stopped fully laughing, and lifted less to compensate. All while waiting for an old “normal” to fit a new life. This when I could have enjoyed each day so much more. Of which, that is even easier today with the new Impressa* bladder supports to help stop leaks even before they start.
So Ladies…don’t limit yourself. And goodness, don’t ever stop laughing like I did. Don’t you dare even stifle a giggle. Because sometimes you can’t simply make it better. So we have to learn laugh at it; fully and without worry. All to embrace the quirky nuances that being a Mother has brought us.
So next time, make sure you relish the freedom of going on hayrides three times in a row. Love the imperfect selfies that aren’t posed or directed. All for the sake of not only taking the pictures, but making sure we have proof we were there as well. And not, just to hold the camera.
You can find the Poise* Impressa* sizing kits at major retailers such as Target, Walmart, Meijers and Amazon.com. Check for in-store digital coupons and for additional ways to save? There is a $4 off coupon in the Poise* Impressa* sizing kit as well as this $2 coupon off Poise* Impressa* 10-count base packs.

I don’t have leakage issues, but there is a whole group of moms in my zumba class who do & there is always a collective sigh when a song with jumps comes on!

I am hoping that a lot of people will pass the word along about Impressa. There are a whole lot of women who can get their freedom back if they just get the news that this exists!

After having 3 boys, I totally get your post! For me, it’s not so much laughing (unless I’m drinking wine and playing CAH).. and I laugh A LOT! It’s more sneezing, coughing or jumping. With cold and flu season coming, I need to up my LBL protection game! Thanks for the .. not so fun.. reminder.

My doctor told me years ago that most women deal with leakage at one point or another. Long bouts of hard laughter could be dangerous for a lot of us.
