The holidays are coming. Meaning I’m doing everything I can now, to avoid the single mom scramble later. Since maid’s don’t work for free…I’m doing the next best thing. Stocking up on Scrubbing Bubbles® and Windex® at Walmart.
Lets face it, at 900 sq ft., my cozy abode doesn’t require much elbow grease but even with normal schedules; who’s got time to do it all during the holidays? I’d almost rather just name the dust bunnies and leave out carrots but somehow I don’t think my overnight guests will appreciate that adoption.
Therefore I’m left with getting resourceful and that means covering the basics so well that any holiday visitor doesn’t even realize why you’re really using paper plates. Walmart keeps me stocking up on my go-to cleaning supplies to cover these three main household features.
Step One: Distract them with a Welcome Window
You know that charming poem about kids and fingerprints? I highly doubt it was written by a woman who actually cleaned her own windows. Because as cute are those little prints on the other side? It just looks like someone sneezed and drew a picture in it. So the first order of business? Do you and your guests a favor and stock up on Windex® Original Glass Wipes.
Step Two: Give Them Something To Look For.
While the medicine cabinet may be the first thing guests snoop in, they’re also going to be peeking in your shower. Personally, with a 90% white tiled bath, moving to my new rental meant a cleaning war. That is until I found Disinfectant Scrubbing Bubbles® Bathroom Cleaner. That penetrating foam kills 99.9% of viruses and bacteria. Not to mention removing soap scum, hard water stains, dirt and more!
I swear this product was made for coffee breaks. I just spray 6-8 inches from the surface that needs to be cleaned, allow foam to penetrate soil, wipe with a wet sponge mop, and then let let Scrubbing Bubbles® do all the work. I have enough time to pour another cup of coffee while saving that elbow grease. Afterwards, I wipe down the shower tiles down with a wet sponge mop. People…I actually love my bathroom shower again!
Step Three: A Throne To Remember.
They say boys will be boys. However what they do not say is how the younger male species can never put the toilet seat down and how pee everywhere but the toilet bowl. So make sure to do your part in keeping this secret.
After a quick wipe down, make sure to stamp in the Scrubbing Bubbles® Toilet Cleaning Gel. This toilet bowl cleaner gradually dissolves with each flush; allowing a controlled release of cleaning solution and fragrance. You’ll love the Scrubbing Bubbles® Toilet Cleaning Gel with the Glade® Rainshower® scent.
Of course the standby cleaning steps 3, 4, and 5 still apply. Such as stashing pans in the broiler; vacuuming up like a madwoman; and resetting the dryer so you don’t actually have to fold the the laundry ever again. So lets see, the house nearly cleaned itself and you can even save $5 off holiday photos with SC Johnson products thru 12/31/2015.
Now all I have to do is hide the take-out packages, reheat the turkey, and remember what the holidays are really about – having more time to spend with friends and family!
