I loved Goldfish® crackers growing up. And as such, I made sure to spread the smiles once my children were born. So when I get a chance to share that love even more? Then I made sure it’s done with all the crafty cuteness I can muster!
Case in point? The absolute perfect solution for snack time…the Butterfly Party Favor. Really, it’s great anytime those kiddos need a treat. But sometimes it’s hard to find a universal idea to satisfy snack time.
This favor tutorial will highlight using Goldfish Colors crackers, and provide a nut-free option. Gluten free options for Mega Cheese smiles do exist as well, and you can easily interchange your choice of cracker at Walmart with other Goldfish cracker items such as:
- Cheddar
- Flavor Blasted® XTra Cheddar
- Pretzel
- NEW Goldfish Mix
- Made with Whole Grain Cheddar
So let’s get started…shall we? First up, you’re going to need a few basics.
- Quart sized zip-closed plastic storage bags
- Wooden clothespins
- Self-adhesive gems
- Chenille stems
- Pen or marker
For my Butterfly Party Favors, I used Storage sized bag with full length Chenille Stems. Sandwich sized bags could also work using half the serving size noted below.
First, use your pen or marker to draw on your Butterfly Party Favor face. Don’t forget this it the “snack that smiles back”…so don’t forget to add that smile! Then I affixed 3 varied sized self-adhesive gems.
Grab your storage bag and begin to fill up the bottom with Goldfish Color crackers. A serving size is 55 crackers. That equals about 1/3 cup. Note, storage quart sized bags will use the full serving size of Goldfish crackers. If you’re using a sandwich bag, count out about half that, and use 24-28 crackers. Then twist the plastic bag to clip on the wooden clothespin.
Next up…fill with grapes! Pull all your grapes from the vines, and insert 10-14 depending on size. The method of filling your party favor bag this way, allows you to keep the grapes and the crackers firmly separated.
Once filled, pinch the zip top closed and you’re nearly done! I like to tuck the closed top of the plastic bag under the grapes for added cute factor. But who are we kidding here…it’s adorable no matter what! And it’s so easy!
To finish these treasures of the treat table, you’ll need to affix the chenille stem antennae. Take two coordinating chenille stems and fold them in half. Using your index finger, bend one loop at the middle. Then one loop on each end, tucking in the wired ends.
Fast, easy, and full of smiles. Goldfish crackers make this playful party favor and wholesome snack a win-win for both the parents and the kids! And speaking of, don’t forget to Keep Kids in the Mix™. Bring them into the kitchen to help count and fill bags to create even more smile-filled memories.
So tell me, what great variety of Goldfish crackers are your favorite? And how do you love sharing them to have fun with your kiddos?
