This #Rumtoberfest post has been sponsored by Bahama Breeze. As always…my thoughts on tasty eats and island treats are my own.
It’s that time again. Just as summer has come to a close and Fall is in full swing. Bahama Breeze will offer up its tasty eats and island treats on all things Rumtoberfest. Now who’s ready to see what they’re serving up?
This fifth annual Rumtoberfest saw three new libations (Shipwrecked, Tradewinds, and Frozen Mojito) created as well as the restaurants largest rum flight, Rum Raid. Ya’ll…you can tell Jack Sparrow I know where all the rum has gone!
But my latest journey into all things island? Why that started with all things Ultimate and Pineapple. Bringing the kiddos with me, meant this particular pineapple was one the whole family could enjoy (non-alcoholic). And that’s what I love most about this tasty island retreat. The fun isn’t only limited to the rum.
In fact it’s also ready to plate up Key West Nachos. Mixing tortilla chips as well as plantain chips is what makes this plate perfect! Then they go forth and top them with lightly spiced ground beef, melted cheese, pickled jalapeños, guacamole, sour cream and salsa. Making it the perfect platter to share for any table appetizer.
Because if you’re going to Bahama Breeze, then do yourself a favor and order up the Rum & Coke Ribs. Bahama Breeze is known for it’s rum and coke BBQ sauce. And they weren’t sparing a drop on this plate!
This season has it being served up with corn on the cob, jicama cole slaw, and mac & cheese. Fair warning, your fingers will need some cleaning afterward! That is if you haven’t already licked them (and the plate) clean!
And I can’t say enough about the lively atmosphere. With live music, this Livonia, MI patio was the place we had to be. It’s fireplace and heaters made sure we were comfortable. All the while the staff was a joy to meet, and make dining with children thoroughly enjoyable.
Which no great meal is finished without dessert right? I have to say the Pineapple Creme Brulee provided the sweetest ending to such a great dinner out. Bahama Breeze puts a twist on this traditional favorite but serves it inside of a pineapple! I mean seriously…how great is that?
With the fireplace roaring nearby, we also ordered up Hot Cocoa With Toasted Marshmallow for everyone. To which the kids were thrilled. And I concluded that if there was ever a reason to buy a blow torch for the kitchen…this was it. Want an even hotter sip? Order this hot mug spiked!
