Congratulations…the holiday hustle and bustle is over! And now, as those Littles pack up lunches to head back to school? You can get back to your budget. All thanks to classic kitchen treats and Meijer’s great savings.
Getting back into the groove with great everyday staples is where I’m at. But my couponing needs to save time and money. So that timesaving aspect is why I love using Meijer mPerks digital coupons. For example, until 2/29/18, you can save over $2 on Jif® Natural Peanut Butter Spread, Smucker’s® Natural Fruit Spread, and Jif Power Up® snacks with mPerks. That’s a trifecta of awesome in my book.
So with our pantry stocked full of great Jif® and Smucker’s® staples? My kids can look forward to happy bellies and full lunchboxes. One way I love to make the goodness stretch even further? With grilled peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.
The sky really is the limit when it comes to warming up this traditional lunchbox favorite. It’s amazing on the taste buds. Especially with all the great natural fruit spreads that Smucker’s® offers. Plus warming the sandwich allows the peanut butter and jelly to thin. Meaning you use less. Thereby keeping your pantry stocked longer.
Ready to see the best way to plate this up? There is a little trick to keeping it easier for you. First, make your PB&J as you normally would. Peanut butter on one side…jelly on the other. Take care to only use ½ as much peanut butter and jelly as you “normally” would. Really, a thin coat along the bread is all you need.
Next, warm up a skillet over a medium heat. Melt a tab of butter, this really is preference. All you need to do is ensure there is enough butter in the pan to grill the bread. Tip your pan to allow the butter to coat the bottom of your skillet. Then using a spatula, place each slice of bread, spread up, on the melted butter.
For extra measure, you can lift each slice to ensure the butter is allowed to soak into the bread. Then, flip the peanut butter slice facedown on top of the jelly. Press slices together. And allow bread to evenly grill to a golden crust. Flip with spatula as needed.
Now, this sandwich will not “glue” together. It will be ooey and gooey and utterly delicious. And only takes as long as the buttered bread needs to crust. But please allow time for it to properly cool before you eat it.
Fun doesn’t stop there though. With the new school semester comes new after school activities. Meaning my van needs to be stocked with easy snacks as well. That’s where the Jif Power Ups® Creamy Clusters come into play. Fast, easy, and truly creamy; this little pack of awesome is all we need to keep going.
So now that you’ve seen all we do with Jif® Natural Peanut Butter Spread and Smucker’s® Natural Fruit Spread, are you ready to create your own magic in the kitchen with Meijer & mPerks today?
