Ready to get your Meatless Monday on? There are a lot of benefits in choosing to eat healthier. And one, is discovering how easy using plant based protein can be! For example, this easy recipe for Hummus Pasta courtesy of Lilly’s Foods.
I recently showcased this recipe for the Detroit, Michigan area on FOX 2 WNEM news. FOX 2 had everything you’d need to whip up a wonderful dish. Working stove top included. And true enough, this easy entree was only a few select ingredients to stir together. So bringing the supplies in wasn’t an issue at all.
The most fascinating aspect of this Hummus Pasta entree? Is that it substitutes pasta sauce for your favorite hummus. Plus only using four ingredients, the majority of time spent creating it, is cooking the pasta. Once that is done, you only add almond milk, roasted cherry tomatoes, and steamed broccoli florets. Sprinkle on salt and pepper to taste, and your ready to serve this allergen friendly dish right this up!
When looking at the recipe, I found I could easily halve the hummus and still keep a balanced flavor. Plus I’d love it to try it next with Lilly’s Smoked Tomato & Basil hummus variety.
Because that is another great reason I really enjoy Lilly’s Hummus. Made in small batches the chick peas are kettle roasted and offer up a more intense flavor than other traditional brands. Additionally, used with a gluten free pasta, this can be easily added to an allergen friendly menu.
So head on over to Lilly’s Foods today and check out all the great recipes they have using hummus. And do make sure to tell me if you’ve tried this inventive dish on your table too!
