Easy, Fun, And Inspiring Ways To Donate This Holiday Season

December 13, 2016 by Rachel Everheart 1 Comment

This #NoBabyUnhuggedCB sponsored post has been compensated by #CollectiveBias, Inc. and its advertiser. As always, my parenting and donation opinions are my own.

There are few things more daunting than an adult shopping in the baby aisles. Sure we read books (or at least we say we do) to know what to expect. But it will always be the diapers that newbies underestimate. And as parents, it’s diapers that bring on a special awareness. One that lasts (and at least for me), would love to help keep every little bottom covered.

Fast forward 8 years, two butts, endless wipes, and a whole lot of diaper cream later. And I have learned my diapering lesson good! Not only does one underestimate how much goes into parenting…but the unforeseen challenge of dealing with what comes out of it. Like how vital it is on having your favorite disposable diaper stocked at your favorite retailers. And knowing there are places to turn to, for keeping your baby bag stocked!

Because being a parent (or caregiver) is hard enough. So when the kids were little I shopped locally, and used reward programs for the diapers I did purchase. So I’m thrilled to see a new updated app from Huggies Rewards. Not only do they make claiming points easier, but you can donate them as well! And right now, for any Huggies purchase at Meijer stores, Meijer will donate $1.00 to the National Diaper Bank Network*.

Meaning the kids and I ran to Meijer this past week when we needed to pick up Huggies Little Snugglers Diapers and Huggies Natural Care Wipes. The newest little addition expected in our village soon. And these years later, and I am still impressed by the quality that Huggies diapers offer. And when posed to my facebook readers, there wasn’t any question to what they were looking at!

But my diapering fun doesn’t just end there. With a 10-month old niece, I couldn’t help but smile when I heard that Huggies is the best brand to fit her too. So when she flies in again from Texas, all I have to do is ask what size she’s wearing. Then I can upload my receipt and give the reward points to charity. To make this deal even more resourceful, Huggies newest program “No Baby Unhugged” will donate 6 diapers for every package purchased** as well.

Love the idea of donating diapers but don’t know how to get started? Here are a few easy and fun ways to help:

Contribute to local childcare agencies.

  • Women/Children shelters
  • Local community centers
  • Daycare facilities

Be social and engage your own friends and family to help your community.

  • Start a virtual diaper drive.
  • Donate Huggies reward points with the new Huggies Rewards app.

Give anonymously.

  • Tape money to diaper packages.
  • Donate directly to the National Diaper Bank Network.
  • Save money at tax time with gifts of appreciated stock.

Share it forward with a *free* ad on sale sites.

  • Craig List Free Ads.
  • Facebook Marketplace.

See how easy (and fun) it can be to build up the community around you? Parents shouldn’t ever have to choose between food or diapers. Many do not realize low income and WIC programs don’t include diaper assistance. Meaning diaper donations, are actually one of the easiest ways to make a BIG difference. So when you’re thinking of giving back this holiday season…think Huggies!

With the GentleAbsorb liner and new softer, breathable cover, baby’s skin is protected from messes like never before. Diapers are hypoallergenic and fragrance free. Not to mention the Premie and Newborn size offers a generous cut-out for the umbilical cords. And ya’ll…that yellow wetness indicator line is just a gift from the Gods.

  • Life gets busy. Budgets get tight. And that's exactly when you need sandwiches and snacks to get JIF-fy with it. Am I right?

Pb&J is a staple in our house. I keep disposable spoons within reach of the kiddos to snag a scoop of PB. And I jazz up our jelly with Orange Marmalade. Want to know how to stretch that goodness even further? Grill up your favorite sammie! Come on over and see how... #Meijer #Ad #CraftPBJCreations
  • 😱😱😱 Like seriously. I just started and I've gotten up three times to move the thing and get distracted. We just need an Elf that just sits in the fridge or the bathroom. Then I know I'm always golden before the kids wake up.

  • ad: Lead the way I tell her... My girl is growing up on me. While she is well past the 8 year age stipulation. This past summer she finally sprung past those last 2 inches to booster seat freedom. Thats mom speak for, she's taller than 4'9". And really, even her Pediatrician told her she had to wait. Meaning now Im googling things like..."how old is a kid riding up front" and "coparenting and car insurance for 16 year olds". But even if her doctor wasnt consulted. Every parent should feel confident in deciding booster seat safety aspects. And with great sites such as the Michigan Office of Hwy Safety Planning, any parent (or concerned care giver) can. And sharing great info like that? Now that Im ready for.
